Mikocheni Community center is ready and is officially opened. The project committee as well as FTK team can now use the centre to provide services to the entire community. FTK personnel have specific days in the week which they stay at the community centre to receive and address community matters as they arise. This will make services delivery easier and reduce the number of people coming to FTK main office. The community centre will be functioning as a meeting venue and should be used for special events that are related to community work. FTK managed to provide 50 plastics chairs to the centre, which is a good starting point to hold meetings and other gatherings.
The shop is already opened at the centre, livestock keepers and farmers are enjoying getting the services very close instead of travelling all the way to Moshi town; now they can have their needs at Mikocheni community centre,
A solar fridge for Mikocheni is ready at the centre and has been installed in the community centre, it was donated by TETI foundation and is being used to store veterinary medicine.
A house project in Mikocheni Ndogo is completed and handed over to the old man who is the beneficiary; this project in collaboration with C-re-aid. Architects who build the house are volunteer students, one from Belgium and another one from University of Dar-es-salaam. The house was built with simple and local available materials that will be used as an example to the entire community who live in Mikocheni Ndogo. The old man is very happy with his new house.
